Men in the US will be able to buy Viagra over the counter after consulting with a pharmacist and without a prescription, the FDA said.
The drug will be available in 15, 50 and 100-count packs after thorough testing, the agency said.
The drugs, which include sildenafil (sold under the brand name Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis) and vardenafil (Levitra), are used to treat erectile dysfunction in men. They work by increasing blood flow to the penis, helping to achieve and maintain an erection.
Viagra is the most well-known drug and has been approved by the US FDA for treating erectile dysfunction.
But it's also been linked to a link to a potentially fatal side effect called "priapism".

According to Pfizer, a spokesman for the FDA, the agency did not return a request for comment Monday.
